Engineers Australia is the peak body for the engineering profession in Australia, with over 100,000 members.
Engineers Australia wanted a new website to align with their strategic goals and offer a seamless user experience for its diverse audience base of members, non-members, engineering employers, and partners.
Their old site lacked a precise representation of its goals, intuitive navigation, searchability and clarity of content structure, all of which resulted in a confusing and overwhelming experience for its users. Icon was brought in to redesign and develop a new Drupal-based website.
I came into this project midway, when most of the wireframes had been completed. The team had come up with a well organised information architecture, a hamburger menu structure that ensured visibility of the many sections of the website and an extensive component library that supported our clients content needs. My role involved testing and refining the wireframes based on user testing insights, then bringing them to life as a vibrant expression of Engineers Australia’s refreshed brand. This included designing 10 responsive templates and styling a comprehensive component library to ensure visual consistency and coherence throughout the site.
Working closely with the Engineers Australia team, we delivered a modern, user-friendly website designed to empower engineers and stakeholders in building new systems, structures, and processes.
